Bio
Bryony Skillington, a writer, actor, director, and singer, born and raised in Manchester, England. In 2001, she moved to New Zealand with her family. In 2005 she was accepted into New Zealand's leading drama school, Toi Whakaari, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Performing Arts degree, majoring in Acting.
Since then, Bryony has forged a successful career on both stage and screen, with notable roles in well-received international productions, including feature films such as The Rehearsal, directed by Alison Maclean, and Netflix's The Power of the Dog, directed by Dame Jane Campion, who won Best Director at the 2021 Oscars. She also appeared in X, directed by Ti West, whose recent worldwide hit, Pearl, serves as a prequel to X. Additionally, Bryony has appeared in acclaimed series Sweet Tooth and The New Legends of Monkey season 1 , both for Netflix. Bryony is also a well-respected stage actor working for many of New Zealand’s leading theatre companies in productions including Billy Elliot for Auckland Theatre Company (ATC) and Into the Woods for the Fortune Theatre.
Bryony has three new series about to be released including South Pacific Pictures Far North written & directed by David White, Apple TV + Time Bandit’s co-written & directed by Taika Waititi and Binge Australia’s Strife where we will see Bryony play the role of Penny Wilson alongside industry greats Asha Keddie and Jonathan LaPaglia.
