Bio
Matariki has been kept busy since graduating from Toi Whakaari in 2009. Most recently he stars as bachelor George Alpert in the hilarious Maori Television mockumentary series Find Me a Maori Bride. Other notable projects include roles in the Te Paepae Ataata-funded feature film The Pa Boys, Toa Fraser's The Dead Lands, and the New Zealand International Film Festival-selected short film Friday Tigers. His television appearances include The Almighty Johnsons and Go Girls. A respected theatre practitioner, Matariki was named best newcomer at the Fringe Festival Awards in 2010 and in 2012 he travelled to Canada to perform the title role in the award winning solo show I, George Nepia. A passionate musician, when he isn't acting, Matariki performs as a member of the Modern Maori Quartet.
