Dominic Ona Ariki is a Cook Islands–New Zealand actor who has received international acclaim for his leading role across three seasons of the television series One Lane Bridge, earning the 2023 New Zealand TV Award for Best Actor. The series was picked up by prestigious platforms including Sundance Now (US) and Acorn TV (UK).
Dominic’s range and commanding screen presence are further showcased in the Australian drama The Commons, opposite Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey) and Rupert Penry-Jones (Whitechapel), as well as the AACTA-nominated series Erotic Stories.
His other notable credits include the comedy feature Gary of the Pacific; Sam Kelly’s acclaimed gang film Savage; his portrayal of All Blacks legend Eric Rush in the miniseries Jonah; and the hit comedy series Double Parked, alongside New Zealand icons Kura Forrester, Antonia Prebble, and Madeleine Sami.
Dominic currently stars in Secret at Red Rocks, an adaptation of Rachael King’s award-winning novel, directed by David Stubbs for Libertine Pictures and filmed in Wellington, New Zealand. Following the series’ three Children’s & Family Emmy Award nominations, a second season is set to begin filming in early 2026.
Beyond screen work, Dominic has an extensive background in physical theatre with the internationally renowned company Massive. He joined the ensemble in 2006 and has performed in productions including My Bed My Universe, the critically acclaimed tour of The Brave, and most recently I Love You G, alongside Neil Amituanai and Beulah Koale, directed by Scotty Cotter. He also works as a tutor, supporting and mentoring emerging ensemble members within the company.
Dominic is also represented by Luber Roklin Management (US) and CBM Management (Australia).
