Bio
Jamie McCaskill is a celebrated screen and theatre actor based in Wellington, New Zealand. He first appeared on New Zealand screens in Insiders Guide to Happiness (2003) and has since become a familiar face through standout roles in some of the country’s most popular television series, including Shortland Street (South Pacific Pictures), Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s hit comedy Wellington Paranormal, and the BAFTA-nominated drama After The Party, where he played James alongside industry greats Robyn Malcolm and Peter Mullan.
Beyond acting, Jamie is a key member of The Māori Sidesteps Collective, where he has contributed as writer, producer, casting director, and performer in the acclaimed variety comedy series Hari with the Māori Sidesteps. The show offers a sharp, entertaining, and uniquely Māori perspective on contemporary Aotearoa.
As a writer, Jamie has worked on several successful projects including Colonial Combat and, most recently, the series Warren’s Vortex. He will also appear in a major new television production set to air in 2026, playing a significant role alongside a cast of iconic UK and Kiwi actors. The series marks the directorial debut of one of Aotearoa’s most well-known comedic talents.
With a dynamic career spanning acting, writing, and production, Jamie McCaskill continues to bring authenticity, humour, and cultural insight to Aotearoa’s stage and screen.
