Bio
Michael started his acting journey in 2013, he graduated with a Diploma in Performing Arts from PIPA, Pacific Institute of Performing Arts, he was quickly signed up by an agent who spotted his talent on stage at the Mangere Arts Centre in the production of Hearts of Men directed by Vela Manusaute which showcased his multiple talents on stage including impeccable comic timing, dancing, singing, and guitar playing. Michael then landed a role of Sione in the Musical Production of Sione’s Wedding for New Zealand’s leading theatre company (ATC) Auckland Theatre Company and is set to return 2022 to the main stage for ATC Waterfront Theatre playing the lead role of Sione in the production Dawn Raids, written by Oscar Knightley.
In 2020 Michael was offered the role of Maka in the Fresh Shorts NZFC funded Film Lea Tupu'anga/Mother’s Tongue alongside International acclaimed actor & writer of the film, Luciane Buchanan. Michael is also an accomplished Presenter, Host & MC for live productions including the Brain Busters for Whitebait Media, ASB Polyfest (Tongan Stage) for Fresh TV, and MC for Gen X Unleashed & Omega Family Day touring Australia & New Zealand. When not acting Michael is a learning assistant at Ormiston Junior High, helping and supporting students with specific learning needs. Michael is a proud father and husband with two beautiful kids living in Auckland.
