Bio
Robbie Nicol is an award-winning comedian, actor, and writer based in Auckland.
Robbie Nicol is best known as the creator and host of 'White Man Behind A Desk'. The satirical web series earned him the title of "kiwi John Oliver" from the Sunday Star Times and "satire genius" from Dame Jacinda Ardern. The series won Best Web Show at the NZ Web Fest and Best Newcomer at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival.
Nicol then went on to co-create a comedy civics series called 'The Citizen's Handbook' with frequent collaborator Finnius Teppett, which aired on Three and RNZ. Nicol is also the co-creator of numerous fictional webseries funded by New Zealand on Air and Google, including 'Bright Summer Night', 'Happy Playland', and 'Tragicomic'. His work on these series with The Candle Wasters earned them the role of SPADA’s New Filmmaker of the Year for 2017.
Robbie has also hosted panels and events for the NZ International Comedy Festival, Massey University, Show Me Wellington, JustSpeak, and Auckland Museum.
