Roxie Mohebbi is an actor of Middle Eastern lineage who has gained acclaim in New Zealand and internationally for her emotive, grounded performances and natural wit.
Roxie was working as an emergency neonatal nurse, before taking on her maiden role as a doctor in iconic New Zealand soap, Shortland Street. Since then, Roxie has very quickly established herself as among the country’s most sought after and versatile actors.
As well has her career highlights as an actor, Mohebbi has built a brand as a powerful activist and leader across several major issues.
Most recently Roxie has broken into the Australian market with pivotal roles in the ABC series Ladies in Black, and Stan Australia’s Critical Incident.
NZ television screen highlights include: The New Legends of Monkey S2 (Netflix), New Zealand’s leading soap Shortland Street (South Pacific Pictures), drama series One Lane Bridge S3 (Sundance Now), Miles from Nowhere (Gibson Group) which premiered at Red Sea 2023, and both seasons of Simone Nathan’s Kid Sister (Greenstone TV).
Her latest feature film credits include The Moon is Upside Down, written & directed by Loren Taylor (Eagle vs Shark). Also, from Rotterdam 2024 opening night, Jonathan Ogilvie’s Head South sees Roxie play the role of Holly alongside Ed Oxenbould, internationally acclaimed New Zealand actor Marton Csokas (LOTR, Spiderman, Star Wars) & popstar Benee.
