Bio
Ilaisaane is a New Zealand-Tongan actor based in Auckland and in 2017 graduated from Unitec with a Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts degree. Her breakout screen role was in 2019 when she landed the Major Support role of Rima Latu in the Australian made mini-series The Commons for STAN Australia which was nominated for several awards, winning Best Director at the Australian Director Guild Ceremony. Other screen credits include New Zealand made web-series Brutal Lives – Mo`ui Faingata’s which won London Web Fest in 2020 & Head High Season One for South Pacific Pictures and screened on TV 3.
Ilaisaane is also an accomplished Theatre Actor, she made waves in the local theatre scene when she was cast in the multi-award-winning theatre production Wild Dogs Under My Skirt, an adaptation of Tusiata Avia’s poetry collection, directed by Anapela Polata’ivao. Originally a one woman show, the six woman adaptation with Ilaisaane premiered as part of Silo Theatre’s 2018 season. This was followed by a tour of New Zealand and then part of the NZ Arts Festival traveling to New York where it debuted to sell-out crowds in 2019.
