Sam Gardner is an emerging Auckland-based actor who is quickly establishing a strong presence across New Zealand television. He is best known for his role as Lukas Dimas on Shortland Street, and for portraying Julian Oakley in Seasons 1 and 2 of Under the Vines alongside Rebecca Gibney. Sam has also appeared in the much-loved series The Brokenwood Mysteries, continuing to build an impressive list of screen credits early in his career.

In 2026, Sam continues his momentum with roles in Netflix's limited series 'East of Eden', Crackhead, Feelings Club, and the upcoming series Please Don’t Break Anything. He has also secured leading roles in several proof-of-concept projects currently in development, further demonstrating his potential as a compelling leading actor.

Dedicated to developing his craft, Sam has trained extensively with respected industry professionals including Laura Interval, Latham Gaines, and Miranda Harcourt, alongside ongoing vocal and accent coaching that continues to expand his range and versatility. Outside of acting, Sam is a dedicated athlete and recently won the North Island Novice U75kg Boxing Championship; reflecting the discipline, focus, and resilience he brings to both his sport and his screen work.
