Shadon Meredith is known for playing the role of Matiu Thompson on Shortland Street in 2019.

Shadon graduated from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School in 2009 with a Bachelor of Performing Arts. He has worked nationally and internationally on screen and with youth based theatre projects that aim to empower and encourage the arts as a way to create dialogue.

In 2008, he traveled to Cambodia to help facilitate a drama workshop with the youth from an N.G.O Sustainable Cambodia. He also traveled to Shanghai, China in 2009 to attend the UNESCO Asia Pacific Drama School Conference. 

Shadon helped set up theatre collective 'Polynesian Laboratory' and co-directed, alongside his wife Amelia Reid-Meredith, Polynesian Laboratory's maiden production LeTonu: The Decision.

Shadon assistant directed Massive Theatre Company's Havoc in the Garden in 2011. In the same year he held youth workshops on behalf of Auckland Theatre Company’s Romeo & Juliet. He directed Basement’s 2013 Young and Hungry’s Atlas, Mountains, Dead Butterflies which involved an ensemble of young people.

In 2013, Shadon traveled to Macau and Taiwan to perform in Red Leap Theatre’s production of The Arrival. He performed in Paper, Sky and Sea the same year.

Shadon performed in Aroha White’s Piece 2080 in 2014, with Tawata Theatre Company in Wellington, before going on to act and direct with ATC for Suli Moa’s play No Man’s Land, and Hekama Productions Goodbye My Feleni.

2018 saw Shadon in the re-staging of Red Leap’s The Arrival in collaboration with Queensland Performing Arts for a two week season in Brisbane. Later the same year Toi Whakaari contracted Shadon’s services for their annual Audition Intake and Applicants Weekend and as a devising tutor and co-directed Toi Whakaari’s first year actors in their ‘Go Solo’ season.
