Bio
Taika Waititi is an Academy Award® and GRAMMY® winning, Emmy®-nominated writer, director, actor, and producer known for blending heart, humour, and a deeply original voice across film and TV. He won the Oscar® for Jojo Rabbit and directed Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder, while also crafting beloved indies like Hunt for the Wilderpeople, BOY, and What We Do in the Shadows. His next film is the highly-anticipated adaption of Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel, Klara and the Sun, out next year 2026 for Sony Pictures.
In TV, he co-created FX’s Reservation Dogs, starred as Blackbeard in Max’s Our Flag Means Death, directed episodes of The Mandalorian, and most recently co-created Apple TV+’s Time Bandits and Hulu’s Interior Chinatown. Through his production company, Waititi Productions, he also champions up and coming voices that he believes in. A true multi-hyphenate, Waititi was recently honoured with the Norman Lear Achievement Award for his groundbreaking work in television.
