Bio
Tāne Williams Accra is a Guyanese New Zealand actor who was born in Brixton, London, with family residing in London, New Zealand, Washington, and New York. A graduate of New Zealand performing arts school, Whitreia, he landed a core cast role in New Zealand’s leading drama series Shortland Street while in his final year of school playing the role of Ali Karim for over 4 years.
Other screen highlights include feature films such as Universal Pictures Krampus/Cloven, Blumhouse Pictures Fantasy Island, GFC Films The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck and Amazon Studios Don’t Make Me Go. Tane is also an accomplished theatre actor having worked with New Zealand’s leading Theatre company (ATC) Auckland Theatre Company where he played the lead role of Paul in their production of Six Degrees of Separation at the Waterfront Theatre.
Tane is a skilled dancer and musician and has a passion for performing from a young age. He has more than fifteen years hip hop experience and toured Melbourne, Rarotonga, and New Zealand performing and teaching with a dance crew. A few years back Tane released his solo EP Kid in rap duo Kid’n Rei followed by Die-Hi released late 2022. Tane is currently living in Melbourne to further his music and acting career.
