Bio
Thomas Jay Smith is an emerging creative and a graduate of Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School. His deep passion for the performing arts is highlighted by significant achievements, including the successful 2025 Fringe Season of 'Running Wet Through A Tunnel', Pacific Underground's 2024 season of 'Dawn Raids', and the 2020 closing season of Pop-up Globe Youth Theatre's 'All's Well That Ends Well'. Thomas hails from Solihull, England, and was raised in Ōrewa, Tāmaki Makaurau.
Thomas has found a love for film and is eager to spread his artistic wings on the screen. He has wide experience playing characters ranging from larger than life to soft and subtle. He is no stranger to complex and sometimes uncomfortable or challenging roles. No matter the role, he faces it with unwavering professionalism. Thomas made his writing and directorial debut with a proof-of-concept short film, 'Blank Slate', earlier this year.
