Three women - a duped mail-order bride, a numbed anaesthetist determined to have a  romantic weekend, and an empty-nester on an unexpected mission of mercy - each venture through unfamiliar landscapes and the contours of the human heart.

The film follows three women: Natalia, a Siberian mail-order bride arriving to rural New  Zealand played by Victoria Haralabidou, Briar played by Loren Taylor who is determined to have a romantic weekend, and lonely empty-nester Faith played by Elizabeth Hawthorne,  who launches herself on an uncharacteristic mission of mercy. The Moon Is Upside Down 
explores the subtle intertwining of their lives, and how each woman navigates what is at  stake in her entirely unique situation.
