Bio
Alisha is a graduate of Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School. Her theatrical repertoire includes notable performances in Albert Belz’s The Birthday Girl, Mimic Another directed by Ross McCormack and Helen Todd and Shakespeare’s Othello for which she competed at the renowned Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival. She also developed her own solo show Mannequin Talk that explored the cyclical nature of a capitalist world through an abstract lens.
Alisha’s screen credits include short films such as St.Margo, Wrong Number and most recently Blue Lights directed by Bala Murali Shingade which is currently in the film festival circuit. At the end of 2023, Alisha also collaborated with fellow students to develop and film The Flowers of Eventide, a film that showcases the nuance of grief. This project catalysed Alisha’s passion for making her own work. She is currently developing her next short film.
Outside of acting, Alisha is training in the classical dance form of Kathak. Besides dance, Alisha has also done a few modelling jobs. She had the privilege of modelling a new line called Sum of its Parts by Hattie Beaumont which debuted at the Exposure Exhibition at Massey University. She also modelled for costume designer Kerri Singley bringing her beautiful garments to audiences for two consecutive years.
Alisha is now in Melbourne, Australia where she continues to learn, connect and make within the industry. With an unrelenting passion for the work, she hopes to take her craft and stories to a global audience.
Alisha speaks Hindi and Telugu, both at an intermediate level.
