Celia Jaspers
Celia is a Director, Writer, Producer, Script Supervisor & Editor. As an experienced working director, in the field & onset for nearly 3 decades, there's not much i haven't seen, fixed or experienced! I believe my skills from doco translate extremely well to narrative, my experience directing non actors has given me enormous skills in working with people of all backgrounds and with my training in directing actors, i know i am capable to handle just about anything thrown at me.

Bio
I just love everything about filmmaking and have been lucky enough to spend my whole working life in the industry, working mostly as a director and editor, and love being at the coal face of production.
I've been accumulating a vast range of craft skills across many areas in the industry, but have been resolutely focused about being a director since a teenager. I've directed a broad range of content from doco, factual, kids and short films, and am now pivoting strongly to narrative scripted work.
I've been part of many masterclasses and workshops from AFTRS, to Script to Screen, DEGANZ and Sundance Collab courses. I'm very active in my upskilling and apply everything I learn to current projects or future aspirations.
I've been fortunate to collect several awards for my TV work, and my shorts, have also attained a range of awards from Best Director to Best Film in many festivals around the world.
The highlight of my career across many hours of commercial content, has literally been my two self funded shorts. An absolute joy to work in narrative and with my hand picked team, I loved every second of both productions from shooting right down to post and eventually festivals.
I now have a strong desire to direct TV & features.
“Celia is a highly motivated producer director who has consistently delivered GSTV excellent primetime material. She has high organisational skills and is capable of delivering television series’ by driving large production teams. Creatively she understands the necessary story arcs that modern networks demand– and has a strong visual sense. In either the producer or director league, Celia is a valuable asset to GSTV.”
Phil Smith – Managing Director, Great Southern Television
“Shout out to bad ass director Celia Jaspers killing it on an episode of House Hunters International in Wellington, NZ! Not only was she directing our drone pilot here (reference photo) but she was also running traffic with 2 cams with her DP plus six talent including two infants. Just want to say cheers and well done to a true professional. Grace, style and competence! What a joy to witness as Celia’s boss who felt more like a student today !!! #respect #ladyboss
Liz Layton – Co-Executive Producer, House Hunters International, Leopard Films USA
“Celia has a first- class television brain – she has superb instincts and has honed her abilities through a wide variety of work, including on Hyundai Country Calendar. We set very high standards on our show and Celia has always met, or exceeded, those. She gives 100% to any project she’s involved in. Celia will never let you down – and in fact, she’ll bring more to any project she undertakes than you expected."
Julian O’Brien – Producer, Country Calendar, TVNZ
“… we wanted a director who could come up creative ideas that would set the show apart from other children’s programmes. Celia delivered – from the outset she was totally dedicated to the success of the show – she scripted and directed (and edited a number of shows) and went way beyond what I would normally ask from a director. She is creative, very well organised, very knowledgeable about her craft and always receptive to suggestions from other team members. This won’t be the last time Celia works for Top Shelf.”
Laurie Clarke, Executive Producer, Top Shelf Productions
