Elizabeth “Biz” Crummett is a California-born, award-winning short film director and has lived in New Zealand for the past 18 years.

Bio

Elizabeth has had the pleasure of collaborating with, and being mentored by, various heavyweight films and visual FX industry players; several of whom have acted as godfather to her creature-driven projects and helping her to achieve unique visual genre styles.

Her original horror feature film script/project PANTOMIME was picked up and developed by BLUMHOUSE PICTURES in 2018 under the late, executive producer Rae Roberts.  In 2023 Elizabeth’s short film THE UNDERSTUDY world-premiered at the Grand Chinese Theater in Hollywood and was selected to screen at a dozen international film festivals around the world including SCREAMFEST LA, NEW YORK CITY HORROR FEST and SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON. 

Elizabeth enjoys writing in partnership with her husband Hamish Brown who also works as a storyboard artist and in costume, helping to bring dozens of iconic films and series to life including LORD OF THE RINGS and AVATAR trilogies, THE HOBBIT, and Taika Waititi’s TIME BANDITS. Elizabeth and Hamish are based in wild and windy Wellington
