Bio
Stephen Bain is an accomplished New Zealand actor known for his extensive work and global experience in theatre. His career has taken him from Wellington to Taipei, Lithuania, Finland, Belgium, and Berlin, among other international locations.
Stephen is highly trained in acting, voice, and choreographic theatre. He holds a PhD in Society & Culture from the University of Tasmania, Australia, and a degree in Theatre & Film from Victoria University Wellington. Additionally, he has a Bachelor of Acting from New Zealand Drama School: Toi Whakaari.
Screen highlights include working on films including Academy award winning production for Netflix Power of the Dog, directed by Jane Campion, Pike River directed by Rob Sarkies, Erebus: Into the Unknown and Field Punishment No 1. Television series include, Revelations, Top of the Lake, Outrageous Fortune & The Strip.
Stephen's diverse educational background also includes a BBSc in Architecture from Victoria University Wellington. This combination of artistic and academic achievements not only makes him a talented actor in film, screen, and theatre but also showcases his unique interdisciplinary expertise.
With a rich portfolio and a wealth of experience, Stephen continues to make significant contributions to the performing arts community both in New Zealand and internationally
