Luciane Buchanan will star in Jason Momoa's nine-episode series Chief of War opposite Momoa and Temuera Morrison.

The series follows the epic and unprecedented telling of the unification and colonization of Hawaii from an indigenous point of view, set in the late 18th Century when the four major kingdoms of Hawaii were constantly in a state of war. Legendary warrior Kaʻiana (Jason Momoa) is pulled into battle when Seers and visions name him as the one who will fulfill an Ancient Prophecy that will bring peace to all of Hawaii. Buchanan will play Ka’ahumanu, described as “intelligent and progressive in thought. Ka’ahumanu is curious about the larger world beyond her home islands.”.
